Johnson
at 10
I’m currently writing my sci-fi thrillers called “Aurora” and the “The Discovery Protocol“. But when I first heard about the book, “Johnson at 10” by Anthony Seldon and Raymond Newell, I knew I had to read it. Over the years, I have read many science fiction, action, space technology and espionage books. But “Johnson at 10” is one of the most interesting and revealing books on political life I have ever read.
The writers of this literary epic have delivered a masterpiece. This book tells the political story of life in No10 Downing Street during some of the stormiest times and most chaotic times in UK history, the world has ever seen. The book includes the drama of the 2019 General Election and the Afghanistan withdrawal mission. It also reveals the astonishing details of the UK’s own Covid19 pandemic responses that went on to affect so many in the UK.
The writers of “Johnson at 10” were able to interview more than 200 insiders, politicians and key officials that all interacted with Boris Johnson. This book reveals the political games and political insight that lay at the heart of the British government. But it also describes Boris Johnson’s character and his quest for political power.
I once met Boris Johnson when he was a member of Parliament (Henley on Thames June 2001 to June 2008). Back then, Boris was a massive fan of the European Union and its goals. But in 2016, one of the greatest political events in the history of the world happened. The UK had voted to leave the European Union, the world was stunned and I was horrified by the Brexit Affair. Brexit will go down in history as the UK greatest mistake as there are no benefits from leaving the EU. I`m really hoping this book is a one off, as a sequel or “The Boris Strike Back” is something we should all dread.
Update.
On the 09/06/2023, Boris Johnson resigned as a member of parliament.
Johnson at 10 Book Recommendation
I enjoyed this book and I would certainly recommend it to anyone interested in politics, political history, European history and political intrigue. Johnson at 10 is certainly gripping, well-written and in some ways, its revealing story is oddly funny. As soon as you pick it up, you won’t be able to put it down as you’ll be stunned by its implications..
Audible Review
I also purchased the audiobook version of “Johnson at 10”. It’s one of those books that will be perfect for long-distance road trips across an alien world.

Marc.
